Zanga Zanga links Middle eastern and African dances with aerobic elements, combining cardio conditioning with flexibility, strength and endurance training. It also helps burn lots of calories and is suitable for all fitness levels. Zanga Zanga Fitness® uses authentic and diverse choreographies with Drum based Music, giving you a unique combination of dance exercise.
We not only organise fitness classes but also workshops, instructor training, party packages with stage performances and last but not least annual charity events.
How it started
The co-founders and sisters Mona & Nora had an idea in in 2014 after noticing the lack of fitness classes providing women only dance workout in a safe and positive environment. With the rise of Zumba dance workout, there wasn't any well known dance fitness classes incorporating specific Arab and African dances, so Zanga Zanga was created!
The name "Zanga Zanga" originates from the North African Arabic dialect which means 'neighbourhood, neighbourhood', aspiring for Zanga Zanga classes to be available in every city and neighbourhood around the globe. Zanga Zanga® classes are usually an hour long and are taught by instructors licensed by Zanga Zanga fitness ltd.
In a nutshell
Zanga Zanga® workout is a combination of dances from countries in the Middle East, as well as North and Central Africa, such as folkloric dances, line dances and afrobeats together with aerobic elements and body weight exercises like squats and lunges for a MAXIMUM result. The exercises includes slow and fast rhythms, aerobic dance elements as well as resistance training.
